Empowering artists and entrepreneurs through community building and inclusion.

Welcome!

Hello! My name is Tracey Carswell (they/them)

I am a queer and trans non-binary coach, curator, educator, speaker and artist with a huge commitment to promoting equity for creatives and entrepreneurs. My focus is on empowering individuals who have been excluded or marginalized in traditional creative and entrepreneurial fields. I do this by investing in the growth and success of women, femmes, queer, transgender, gender non-conforming, and BIPOC leaders in the jewelry and craft industries.

I am the founder of Powerful in Pink, a platform that offers coaching, business support, curation, and community building opportunities for artists and entrepreneurs. I’m proud to be co-founder of Queer Metalsmiths, a community space that honors, centers, and uplifts 2SLGBTQIA+ jewelers, metalsmiths and makers.

I am here to support the growth and success of artists and entrepreneurs (like you!) while building vibrant and inclusive communities.

“In celebration of Latina/x/e Heritage Month, join us for the fourth installment of our Conversations on Diversity: Deconstructing Gender in Jewelry series, Hear Her Story. This virtual event, hosted by WJA New York Metro, WJA Miami, and Queer Metalsmiths, will focus on the artistic journey of Omar Monroy (they/she), the visionary behind El Techichi Jewelry.”

Everyday Health

“As a kid, Tracey Carswell (they/them) always felt a little different. But they didn’t have the language to explain how or why until they tried on the term “nonbinary” and started using they/them pronouns. Finally, it felt like the right fit.

Then came the chest cancer diagnosis, and Carswell was immediately thrown back into a gendered space that didn’t feel right to them.”

Veronica Edwards

“Tracey Carswell is not just any artist – they're a non-binary powerhouse, redefining the nexus of personal struggle, artistic expression, and entrepreneurial spirit.”

Slowmade Podcast
Christine Mighion

“Tracey shares their journey into metalsmithing and their passion for creating jewelry. They also discuss the importance of community support and collaboration in their work.”

LGBTQIA+ Rights are Human Rights

LEVIN Sources

“In the bustling artisanal gold mining sector of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the daily struggles of individuals like Maya come to light. Maya is an artisanal gold miner. She also happens to be a trans woman working in an industry that is dominated by a patriarchal culture, offering little room for the recognition of diverse gender identities and sexual orientations.”
